Description

We were traveling up north, and I had some time to myself on this beach to reflect and take some photos.

I came across this broken shell, all alone on the beach...

nice and simple
i would try a lower angle to have less of that boring part in the middle of the picture
or crop the trees

i kinda like the trees and the horizon, shows the distance of the shell from the rest of the beach and thus succeeds in your hope to portray loneliness. great job.

Thanks for the comments all!
I tried using the space in this photo, kindof cutting it up into three seperate bits.. the shell ofcourse is the focus. A big empty space in the middle and the trees at the top. Perhaps I could have made the empty space smaller, but I felt by being fairly large it made it feel alone..
Thanks again for the suggestions and comments!

Great clarity and colors. I think the crop is a bit tight. I'd like to see more beach, and I think you could still use the concept usefully! Keep at it!

I have to agree with how you've done the composition, I think it shows the extreme distance between the shell and the trees. And you need distance to get that alone feeling.
Great capture, beautiful but sad concept

I like this photo very much although I might have cropped it wider and moved the shell off to one side a bit. Still ... it works well as is. Nice DOF!
